How Solar Hot Water System Works

One of the questions we get asked about here at Barwon Solar is how does a solar hot water system work.

In fact, it's very simple - so simple, we can explain it in three steps:

Step one: The sunlight strikes the dark blue absorber inside the evacuated tube.

Step two: The heat pipe transfers the heat pipe transfers the heat up to the copper header pipe location in the insulate manifold box.

Step three: A pump circulates water from the storage tank to the copper header pipe, warming the water. The solar heated water is then pumped down into the storage tank for use.

It should also be noted that anti frost is built in to our systems to ensure solar hot water can be provide even in colder climates.
