Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems have many benefits for householders. Not only do the generate electricity, the power is obtained from a ‘free’ resource - the sun without emitting greenhouse gases. Greenway Energy Solar PV panels or modules are silent, as they have no moving parts and can unobtrusively be mounted on a roof. Solar modules can also be integrated into a building in the form of windows, walls, roof tiles or pergolas and the power produced can supplement or meet all your electrical consumption needs. Solar electricity can be fed into the grid and extra solar modules can be added later as demand, or your budget, grows. A typical solar module should last for at least 20–30 years.
There are several factors to consider when installing a Greenway Energy Solar PV system. The more electricity you need, the larger the system and the greater the cost. Your budget may create limits on the size of the system and may be impacted by your location. This will determine whether the mains electricity grid is available and, if so, how much would it costs to bring power out to your property and pay for maintenance of poles and cables on your property. You also need sufficient space on your roof to mount north-facing modules. Finally, Commonwealth and/or state government rebates provide an incentive to householders to invest in solar but these are subject to change from time to time.
