The Green Building Council of Australia (G.B.C.A.) is the nation's leading authority on green building.
The G.B.C.A. was established in 2002 to develop a sustainable property industry in Australia and drive the adoption of green building practices.
In 2003 the G.B.C.A. launch the Green Star environmental rating system which evaluates the green attributes of building projects based on nine categories including energy and water efficiency, indoor environmental quality and resource conservation.
The G.B.C.A. has almost 800 member companies who support the council and its activities.
