At Bicycle NSW, we are a member-based eco association and our mission is:
To promote, advocate, and support cycling in all its forms as an environmentally sustainable and healthy form of transport, recreation and tourism through the engagement of government, industry and the community at all levels.
Bicycle NSW works hard to promote road safety education of cyclists and other road users, and to bring about improved conditions and better facilities for cyclists.
We work with many areas of government, industry and the community to deliver community participation cycling eco events, behaviour change programs and advocacy initiatives.
Bicycle NSW started in 1976 and we now have over 50 affiliated local community-based Bicycle User Groups (BUGs) around NSW.
As well as working closely with their respective local councils, BUGs run over 100 community-based rides throughout NSW every month.
In 2004 the Federal Government accepted the Bicycle NSW Environmental Trust onto the Register of Environmental Organisations.
