World Vision - Twice As Green program

An easy way to help the environment and the world's poorest children.

World Vision will work with communities to plant trees and carry out revegetation projects on your behalf. These projects will revive barren land, so poor communities can improve their environment. These trees will also absorb greenhouse gases like CO2. One action, twice the impact! Company World Vision has always worked with communities living in poverty to build sustainable environments. But the need is much greater now because of climate change.

Our Twice As Green program will help more communities equip themselves to survive in rapidly changing environments. World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organisation working to create lasting change in the lives of children, families and communities living in poverty.

Twice As Green Many of us are already doing our bit to cut down greenhouse gas emissions, like switching to energy-saving light globes and green energy for electricity. World Vision's new Twice As Green program lets you be even greener. Your support will help the environment and change the lives of children and families suffering from climate change.

But that's not all. The trees we'll plant on your behalf will also absorb the greenhouse gases (CO2) that are causing global warming around the world. For as little as $35 a month, your support will contribute to: Reforestation Planting forest and fruit trees in countries like Mongolia and Malawi. Natural re-vegetation Re-vegetation in countries like Mali, Senegal, Chad and Ethiopia to restore eroded farmlands and regenerate degraded forests.

Sustainable farming Training communities in organic and sustainable farming techniques in countries like Zambia. This will improve soil quality to increase crop yields so families have enough to eat. Beyond 'rain-fed' farming Training in diversified farming options in Ethiopia to reduce communities' dependence on rainfall. Alternative farming options like beekeeping will generate a life-saving income for families who can no longer grow traditional annual crops like maize.

Energy-saving initiatives Creating cleaner and sustainable fuel options in Tanzania and Ethiopia, such as energy-saving cooking stoves and solar cookers. Reducing greenhouse gases Planting and regenerating trees on your behalf to absorb greenhouse gases (CO2).
