Battery Recycling

Battery Recycling

At Battery World, we offer the only national opportunity for everyone in Australia to recycle or responsibly dispose of any of their dead batteries. This offer is only for domestic usage and disposal of batteries.

Here in Australia, we have one of the fastest take ups of new technology in the world. It has been estimated that there are over 22 million unwanted mobiles in Australian homes. On average we would replace their handsets every one and a half years to two years.

Unfortunately, this makes for a lot of mobile phones and their batteries to be left unused. In fact, over 90% of the materials in mobile phones, batteries and chargers can be recycled. If they are not handled well - not recycled, they can be a threat to the environment and our eco system.

Sadly over eight mega tonnes of batteries go into landfills each year. Batteries are one of the most dangerous common waste discarded as they are made from heavy metals and harmful elements. These can pollute soil and water and harm wildlife and humans.
