The Sustainable Melbourne Fund wants investment into projects that improve the sustainability and environmental management and deliver economic benefits for the people of Melbourne.
It began in 2004 by City of Melbourne, with an initial investment of $5 million.
All financial returns are re-invested in future projects so there'll be support for environmental assessment and initiatives for many years.
The fund operates as a unit trust. An independent board of trustees are nominated to manage the direction and all investment choices of the fund.
